Florida Keys Council of the Arts: 2018 Members Show “The Creative Art of Lettering”

The Florida Keys Council of the Arts is proud to announce our 2018 Members Show, “The Creative Art of Lettering”. This show will explore pictorial alphabets, illustrated letters, decorative letters, calligraphy, illuminated manuscripts, initials, monograms, names and more...

Entries are accepted daily from 9 am to 5 pm until Monday, November 13th at Arts Council Office in The Gato Building, 1100 Simonton St., Key West.

 The Opening Reception will be held Friday, November 17, from 5 - 7 pm. The exhibition will remain on display from November 2017 through January 2018.

This show is inspired by the “Key West Alphabet”, a hilarious ink sketch limerick book which dates back to 1913.

We are accepting all mediums, all styles for the show. Your work may be penciled, inked, brushed, painted, sculpted, chiseled, thrown, stitched, etc. If you have beautiful cursive, just scribe a quote
or poem and frame it up!
