DOLPHINS ON PARADE ON EBAY
The Monroe Council of the Arts's famous Keyswide, year-long Dolphins on Parade campaign, which raised $100,000 for Arts Council grant programs such as ArtReach and Artists in Schools, continues online.
Twenty-two of the colorful and imaginative dolphin statues are posted on the electronic auction house Ebay between now and the end of May. Bidders can visit the Arts Council's web site, www.keysarts.com, and be linked directly to Ebay.
The dolphins will be posted in five waves of several dolphins per week, and each posting will run for ten days. Bidders are encouraged to visit www.keysarts.com often. (During the three Keyswide live auctions in March, dolphins sold for between one hundred and well over two thousand dollars apiece.)
Photo captions for e-mail recipient: dolphin 25, Neptune, was created by Ludo Huys for the Hyatt Key West; dolphin 97, Hands across the Keys, by Wally McGregor and the teens of the ArtWorks delinquency-prevention program for the Monroe County Courthouse Annex; and dolphin 99, Michael's WIld Ride, by Markel and Leslie Leland for the Heritage House Museum and Robert Frost Cottage.
