The Monroe Council of the Arts will sponsor a writing workshop by Robert Fisher, Tuesday, February 6, 6-10 p.m., at the Marina Del Mar Resort and Marina, 527 Caribbean Dr., Mile Marker 100, Key Largo. The event costs $65. Since this hands-on experience is limited to twenty participants, writers are encouraged to register now.
Robert Haru Fisher is the executive editor of Arthur Frommer?s Budget Travel Online. He has been editor-in-chief of Fodor Travel Guides, president of the Society of American Travel Writers, and consultant for Simon & Schuster. In addition to many newspaper and magazine articles, he has written books on Japan and Europe and on the artists Picasso and Klee. His popular writing workshops often sell out months in advance, and cover such topics as getting published, classic writing, service-oriented writing, investigative writing, staff writing, freelancing, electronic media, storytelling, voice, tense, hooks, leads, openings, paragraphs, quotes, cuts, research, audience, organizations, networking, self-publishing, and more.
Registrants for the February 6 workshop may submit writing samples before or after the session, but not both, for Mr. Fisher to critique.
