Key West’s favorite art craze is now a Keyswide celebration! The Third Thursday Night on White, a twilight gallery crawl that has been drawing residents and visitors to the vibrant White Street gallery district in Key West, has a new name and 150 miles of exciting new territory. The Third Thursday Gallery Night, sponsored by the Florida Keys and Key West Art Gallery Association, includes galleries from Key West to Key Largo. From elegant exhibition spaces at the foot of Duval Street to a funky artists’ co-op in Islamorada, it’s all there, every month. Association member galleries will remain open from 6 to 9 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month, often in conjunction with openings, artists’ receptions, and other special events. To be a member of the Florida Keys and Key West Art Gallery Association, a gallery must offer at least sixty percent original art. This means that by patronizing an Association member gallery you are guaranteed a selection of unique fine art that reflects the dazzling color and ambiance of the Florida Keys. Association member galleries feature (and in many cases are owned by) local artists who have earned international reputations. To receive the beautiful new Florida Keys and Key West Art Gallery Association Guide, with complete listings for member galleries as well as a handy numbered map for locating each gallery, contact the Florida Keys Council of the Arts: call 852-1469 ext. 4369, 743-0079 ext. 4369, or 294-4406; e-mail hal@keysarts.com; or visit www.keysarts.com.
