The Florida Keys Council of the
Arts announces the opening reception for local award winners Shari
Schemmel and Sara Stites in the 2003 South Florida Cultural Consortium
Fellowship for Visual and Media Artists program. New Art will
open at the Palm Beach Institute of Contemporary Art, 601 Lake Ave.,
Lake Worth, FL on July 3rd, from 6 to 9 PM and continue
through August 17.
Shari & Sara each secured a
prize of $7,500 in the
2003 Fellowship for Visual and Media Artists program. They join 10
other artists from South Florida in this showcase event.
Public programs include cinema, discussions, readings and more.

The Florida Keys Council of the
Arts will host a workshop on August 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gato
Building, 1100 Simonton Street, Key West, for artists interested in
applying for the 2004 fellowship. Call 295-4369 to register for the
