The Florida Keys Council of the Arts,
Monroe County Tourist Development Council, Tinsley Advertising and the
Cultural Umbrella of the Florida Keys & Key West are calling
artists and writers to submit artwork for the Culture 2009 magazine. The
cover artists will receive $750.00 for one-time usage in Culture 2009.
Writers will receive $1,000. Additionally, artists whose work is
selected for use inside the magazine will receive a byline with their
name and gallery affiliation or other contact information. Article
proposals or artwork and bios must be submitted by April 4, 2008 in order to be considered for usage.
This year's Culture topics are:
- Art of the Environment:
Keys artists and galleries that portray the beauty of our environment
in order to encourage its preservation; emphasizing the Scenic Highway
and the “green” aspects of the Florida Keys destination
- The history of Flagler's railroad and how it influenced our islands.
Both articles should highlight all five districts within the Keys
(Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, Big Pine & Key West)
