Alicia Zemanek

Alicia Zemanek is an International Award-winning expressionism oil painter specialising in Sealife, Tropical and Wildlife with Collectors based in Europe and North America. Her art has been featured internationally in France, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, Canada and the States. Similar to Delacroix & Matisse, color, pattern & light are a constant inspiration to Zemanek. Her work is deeply influenced by the flora and fauna of her two homes: the beautiful Florida Keys & the mountains of the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Born in the UK, she lived 40 years in Montreal and 18 years in Luxembourg before returning to North America. Zemanek artistic signature is in the richness of the colors which is obtained by mixing traditional Old Masters with modern palette knife techniques. The darks are intensified and luminous through several layers of glaze while the palette knife provides the strong highlights, brilliance, structure and strong color contrast.Her colorful works can be seen at Saatchi Art (USA), Art Majeur (Paris) & SeaSister Island Gallery in Key West.
