Cultural umbrella workshops coming up

The Council scheduled three April workshops in Key Largo, Marathon and Key West on applying for Tourist Development Council Cultural Umbrella funding.

The Florida Keys Council of the Arts is pleased to announce that three workshops on how to apply for Cultural Umbrella funding will be held in Key Largo, Marathon and Key West in April.

The application for Tourist Development Council Cultural Umbrella funding will be released March 28, 2003.

The application will be available by e-mail as an MSWord document. Requests for an application package may be sent now to [email removed]

and will be filled on March 28.

An applicant may also pick up a copy of the application at any Monroe County public library or at the arts council office, 1100 Simonton St., Key West on or after the release date.

Cultural Umbrella funding is to be used for the advertising and promotion of cultural events taking place between October 1, 2003 and September 30, 2004.

The workshop schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, April 8, 10 a.m., Marathon Community Theatre, 5101 Overseas Hwy., Marathon

Tuesday, April 8, 2 p.m., Key Largo Library, MM 101.4, Tradewinds Shopping Center, Key Largo

Wednesday April 9, 10 a.m. 1 st floor conference room, Gato building, 1100 Simonton St., Key West

The deadline for submitting the application is Wednesday, May 21. Applications will be reviewed by the Cultural Umbrella committee in June, and their recommendations for funding will be forwarded to the TDC and BOCC for final approval.
