FKCA to Administer $15,000 Grant for Artists

Michael Ingram, project architect for the remodeling of the City Electric Steam Plant, hosted a lovely party in his Olivia Street home Monday night, to announce a $15,000 grant for artists and an accompanying $2,500 administrative grant to the Florida Keys Council of the Arts for this project.

June Girard, Chair of the Florida Keys Council of the Arts said, "This grant demonstrates that as Chairman of the TDC, Michael fully appreciates the role of the Council of the Arts in supporting and promoting artists in Monroe County." Past-chair of the Arts Council, Bill Andersen, introduced Michael and his contributions to the community, citing the fact that this is the first major private project to include local artists.

Among those attending this gala affair were County Commisioners Dixie Spehar and Sonny McCoy, Cultural Umbrella Chair Shirley Freeman, Arts Council Vice-chair Rocky Hubert and Board members Pino Moro, Diane Gauthier, and Cris Sandifer, as well as Executive Director & President of the Florida Keys Council of the Arts, Monica Haskell.
