Claire Lang Newest Cultural Umbrella Member

The Council named Claire Lang of Islamorada to the Cultural Umbrella committee, representing District 4 ahead of the May cultural event funding deadline.

The Florida Keys Council of the Arts announces that Claire Lang of Islamorada is the newest member of the Cultural Umbrella committee. Claire will represent District 4 and make recommendations for advertising and promotion of arts and culture in the Keys.

She will be reviewing applications for Cultural Event funding and is available to speak with potential applicants who may have questions about the process. Those applications are due May 28, 2004.

Claire has lived in the area since 1979 and is an advocate of culture and cultural tourism. She has experience in the hospitality and sport fishing industries, as well as serving as Executive Director of Islamorada Chamber of Commerce for 3 years. She worked with Irving Eyster in preserving the Historical Trail and has been on the committee for the TIB/Islamorada Amphitheatre at Founders Park.

Her appointment was approved by the Florida Keys Council of the Arts, the Tourist Development Council and the Board of Monroe County Commissioners.
