An Evening with Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul & Mary

The Council announced a February 10 concert and conversation with Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary at the Tennessee Williams Theatre.

On Wednesday, February 10 for one night only, singer/songwriter Noel Paul Stookey performs in a unique presentation of concert and conversation at the Tennessee Williams Theatre at 8 p.m. “My latest album is ‘Facets of the Jewel’ and I plan to draw extensively from that for the Key West performance,” says Stookey, “of course, I would be remiss in not doing ‘Puff the Magic Dragon’ and other material from the past.” The show will include about 20 minutes of dialogue with the audience who will have the opportunity to jot down questions for the musician prior to the show. Audience members are also invited to meet him at a reception in the theatre lobby following the performance. Altering both the musical and ethical landscape of this country and the world for decades—both as the “Paul” of the legendary Peter, Paul and Mary and as an independent musician, his music is funny, thoughtful and compassionate. He has recorded over 45 albums, both as part of the legendary trio and as a soloist. His vocal sound is well-known for classics such as “Where Have All the Flowers Gone” and “Wedding Song.” In addition to his concert life, Stookey oversees Neworld Multimedia, presenting new artists and creating children’s TV shows and music. The royalties from “Wedding Song” go to the Public Domain Foundation, where nearly $2 million has been put to work for charitable causes. Tickets are $25, $35 or $50 depending on seat location and they’re selling fast. Purchase your tickets today at www.keystix.com or by calling the box office at [phone removed]. All proceeds from the performance will benefit the programs of the Florida Keys Council of the Arts www.keysarts.com.
