Lower Keys Hospital Displays "Mother Nature's Medicine"

"Mother Nature's Medicine" hanging in the lobby of the Lower Keys Medical Center was created by Jasmine Sky.

With a studio and showroom based in Big Pine Key, Ms. Sky, a silk artist, creates resort wear, and home décor items including wall hangings. "Mother Nature's Medicine", sponsored by the Florida Keys Council of the Arts, was commissioned by the Lower Keys Medical Center to grace the lobby of the hospital. The three painted panels of silk move with the air, providing a graceful, calming effect.

Unique to Jasmine's silk art is that she incorporates her practice of Reiki; a hands on healing modality, with her painting. Jasmine intends all of her silks as vehicles for healing. It is for this reason that Ms. Sky says, "I am very grateful to have been chosen to create a hanging for the hospital in Key West. May it uplift the hearts and souls of all who are greeted by it.
