Monroe County's Art in Public Places Committee announced the installation of Debra Yates' mural Sunset Celebration at the Key West airport's new terminal

Monroe County's Art in Public Places Committee is pleased to announce the completion of another phase of the public art installation at the Key West International Airport new departure terminal. Key West artist Debra Yates (in photo) completing the installation of her multi-media painted mural in the security area. "Sunset Celebration" was selected by the committee on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners for the County's prestigious and progressive 1% for Public Art program. Ms. Yates is one of eight artists selected from a competitive field of fifty proposals submitted for permanent exhibition in the new terminal. The composition was chosen for it's bright and tropical feel which beautifully complements the interior space and magnificent views. Ms Yates' was honored by this commission and created this signature piece to reflect a harmonious rhythm and a joyful happyfeeling for travelers and airport employees.
