SoDu Gallery Next Generation of Artists Benefit

SoDu Gallery offers an artistsʼ evening to benefit the Arts Councilʼs Florida Keys Artists in Schools Grant Program, 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 10. Selected art work in SoDu Gallery will be temptingly priced to lure art lovers, and half the price will go directly to the school program that puts professional artists (as well as writers, historians and performing artists) in the classrooms for hands-on projects with local students. Artists in Schools is sponsored through grants from the Florida Keys Council of the Arts with support from the State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts and private donations. “We appreciate all that the local Arts Council does to support the arts,” said Judi Bradford, one of five partners in SoDu Gallery and a participant in the Artists in the Schools program when if first started in the keys. “And this is one way we can nurture the next generation of artists right here in this community.” Collectors may be able to pick up a favorite artistʼs work at exceptional prices and lend a hand to the Arts Council programs at the same time. The participating works will be identified with an Artists in Schools sticker. Artists include: Judi Bradford, Fran Decker, Lainie Davia and others. The “Next Generation” show opens 6 to 9 p.m. on the evening of the Full Moon HOWL, March 10, and continues for one week.
