Florida Keys Council of the Arts Creates an Endowment with The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys

(Key West, FL) The Florida Keys Council of the Arts (FKCA) has partnered with the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys (CFFK) to secure their long-term sustainability by creating an endowment. The endowment, entrusted to CFFK for safe-keeping, was established using a the grant FKCA was awarded from the Leadership Success Academy combined with a donation from the private sector. “By being a CFFK donor, it gives us more visibility allowing us to carry on our mission of supporting the Arts and Culture throughout Monroe County. The CFFK understands the challenges we face in Monroe County and our partnership with them allows us to continue to make the Keys a healthy environment for artists in which to live,” states Liz Young FKCA Executive Director. “We wanted to invest the money locally and by investing with CFFK we know that the endowment is in excellent hands. There are so many benefits to investing locally. If we have questions, the CFFK is just around the corner,” says Young. FKCA is the leading cultural organization in the Florida Keys. This non-profit local arts agency links audiences around the world to galleries, theater, museums, festivals, dance, music and more from Key Largo to Key West. Established in 1996, the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys’ mission is to make Key West and the Florida Keys a better place to live now and in the future by encouraging philanthropy and matching these acts of caring to the community needs. Since 1996, CFFK has granted more than $12 million to the community from its donor advised and unrestricted funds to support the important work of our local nonprofit organizations. CFFK currently manages over 90 endowments for individuals and other not for profit organizations and causes throughout the Florida Keys, plus an additional 60 for individual.
