The Florida Keys Council of the Arts is the main source of information on arts and culture in the Florida Keys. Designated the Local Arts Agency for Monroe County by Florida Statue, FKCA is a non-profit cultural advocacy and networking organization. The Board of Directors and Advisory Board represent all the arts, including performing, visual, literary and historical from Key Largo to Key West. The staff of the Florida Keys Council of the Arts also serves as staff to two other county-wide cultural advisory committees: the Monroe County Art in Public Places Committee and the Cultural Umbrella Committee. Members of these two committees are appointed by the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners and represent all five districts of the County.

The Council currently manages rotating exhibits in public buildings by visual artists and music in public places by local musicians.

With the support of board and advisory board members and dedicated volunteers, the Council also maintains an artist registry; publishes and distributes a weekly and quarterly Cultural Calendar, gallery guide, and a map to historic WPA artwork; and maintains a website at www.keysarts.com. The Executive Director serves as staff and liaison to the County Art in Public Places Committee and the TDC's Cultural Umbrella Committee. Other ongoing initiatives include mini-grants, workshops, and managing a county-wide Performing Arts Network, Artists in School and Art Builds Community grant programs, and tourist tax funding for promotion of cultural events.
